Representing SMSs

What’s the best way to indicate that a Communication object is an SMS?

It would make sense to put this in the ‘medium’ field, but the recommended code system for this field is ParticipationMode and it doesn’t include a suitable code for SMSs.

I’m planning to use the closest matching code, ‘ONLINEWRIT’, and then put ‘SMS’ in the ‘note’ field, but I was wondering if there is a better or accepted way to do it?

Sounds like a good reason to submit a change request (click on the ‘propose a change’ link at the bottom of the spec. In the short term, you might need to use an extension. (If you just care about letting a human know, adding something to the ‘note’ field can work.)
