US Core and FHIR document

Greetings,

I have reviewed the US Core specification but didn’t find the composition resource there. There are DocumentReference and DiagnosticReport described, as well as two corresponding search options. If I have a FHIR Document, it is a Composition. Is it supported by US Core? Can I search all three types of documents using one standard operation or should I call three separate searches and aggregate after receiving the response?

US Core hasn’t defined any expectations for sharing “FHIR Documents” - it’s more focused on sharing discrete individual resources. Expectations around documents that US EHRs care about right now are most likely to be reflected in IPS.

The only way to search DocumentReference, DiagnosticReport and Bundle using a single request is ‘batch’ of searches (and I don’t think there’s a requirement in US Core to support that).
